L Mozart Sinfonia in G Major ‘Neue Lambacher’
M Haydn Cello Concerto
WA Mozart Serenade No.9 ‘Posthorn’
Reinhard Goebe conductor
Bruno Delepelaire cello

Both the Mozart and Haydn families have become icons of Classical composition and commonly used their works to reflect their lives and personalities. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote The Posthorn during a hugely creative part of his life, while living in Salzburg. His father, Leopold Mozart is the genius behind the Sinfonia in G major, which shows him at his most serious and progressive. The Cello Concerto in B Flat Major is a new discovery for the music world. Expansive and effective, it was only recently attributed to Michael Haydn, rather than his older brother Joseph.
