Beethoven Symphony No.1
Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4
Bizet Symphony in C
Kirill Karabits conductor
Steven Osborne piano

Beethoven changed the way composition was approached, while still maintaining the popularity of the 18th-Century symphony - and the First Symphony does just that. He displays his emotional diversity and dedication to music in this work as well the Piano Concerto, which takes us through a story of romance and heroism. Bizet’s Symphony in C finishes the evening, showing off the talent of a boy who was 17 years old when he wrote this remarkable gem. With its youthful vitality and melodies of supreme beauty, no wonder it remains a concert favourite.
