Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is an integral part of Portsmouth Guildhall history. It has regularly given concerts since the rebuilt hall opened again in 1959 and has since performed here over 500 times, bringing some of the world's greatest conductors and soloists to Portsmouth.
With a national and international reputation, the BSO has been a cultural beacon since its foundation in 1893. The Orchestra has worked with such illustrious figures as Bartók, Sibelius, Holst, Stravinsky and Vaughan Williams.
This exhibition shows images by London-based photographer Eric Richmond has worked with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra annually as part of their rebrand for the past three years. This new look which integrates the photos into the main season brochure and other publicity materials, focuses on the musicians of the BSO who are much loved by their audiences across the South and South West of England.
