ALL STAR LINE UP FOR NEW ‘BIG MOUTH COMEDY FESTIVAL’ AT PORTSMOUTH GUILDHALL!

Get set for a lip smacking treat as The Big Mouth Comedy Festival lands at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th March 2018 with a line up guaranteed to have you rolling in the aisles including Russell Kane, Andy Parsons, Seann Walsh and Paul Zerdin.

This brand new event brought to you by Portsmouth Guildhall promises to be one of the biggest and best comedy festivals the city has seen in a weekend of top class comedy billing with headline acts, some of the finest comedy the country has ever seen, amazing ‘Best of the Fringe’ preview acts and the crème de la crème of rising, local talent.

Headlining the Saturday night is multi award-winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter, Russell Kane. Best known as the host of BBC3’s Live at the Electric and his appearances on BBC1’s Live at the Apollo, BBC3’s Unzipped, ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now, Russell is “one of the quickest, most stimulating stand ups in the land” performing sell out shows across the globe.

Supporting Russell Kane will be Zoe Lyons with her trademark high energy, brilliantly observed routines and sharply written material. A regular on Mock the Week and The Wright Stuff, Zoe has won both the Comedian’s Comedy Award and Chortle Best Club Comic. Plus a late night alternative comedy act is set to be announced that will keep the laughter flowing into the small hours.

Sunday night sees a mixed bill of ‘Exposer of bullsh*t;’ Andy Parsons, ‘the Lie-In King’; Seann Walsh and America’s Got Talent winner, ventriloquist, Paul Zerdin.

Worried about your job? Worried about your Family? Worried about yourself? The Health Service? Education? Climate Change? Worried about worrying? Sod it, come and have a laugh about it – it’s what we do best with Andy Parsons, star of Mock the Week, Live at The Apollo and QI.

Described by The Guardian as “unquestionably the best observational comic of his generation,” the dishevelled Foster’s Comedy Award nominee, Seann Walsh of Channel 4’s Virtually Famous and regular on ITV’s Play to the Whistle is something else live on stage as he spots the absurdity in everything and converts it to a perfectly delivered stand up show, reducing his audience to hysterics.

And following his Las Vegas residency at the legendary Planet Hollywood with his hit show, ‘Mouthing Off’ and starring role in the celeb-studded London Palladium Pantomime, Cinderella, America’s Got Talent Winner and ventriloquist at the top of his game, Paul Zerdin, makes a special appearance at the Big Mouth with his lovable friend, Sam!

With doors open from midday, The Big Mouth Comedy Festival will give you an afternoon of some of the finest comedy the country has ever seen with Jan Ravens and Barry Cryer and Colin Sell the first daytime acts to be announced.

Jan Ravens, the star of BBC’s Dead Ringers, is best known for her impersonations of Theresa May, The Queen, Fiona Bruce and Hillary Clinton and many others!

And don’t miss Cryer and Sell, the Ant and Dec of the Sanatogen set, reunite as they bring you their ‘Strictly Come Joking’ show complete with songs, jokes and the amazing realisation that they’re still here!

With more acts to be announced for ‘Best of the Fringe’ sessions that are jam-packed with some of the greatest comedians the TV world has to offer from Live at The Apollo, Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats and fresh talent with a live Open Mic featuring the ever popular ‘Portsmouth Comedian of the Year’ competition and ‘Young Comedian of the Year’, you will not want to miss the inaugural Big Mouth Comedy Festival.

The Big Mouth Comedy Festival is being produced by Portsmouth Guildhall with the support of local comedian, writer and actor, James Alderson and Capital FM who are the Guildhall’s radio partner for 2017/18.
