EVENT DUTY MANAGER

TITLE: Event Duty Manager
DEPARTMENT: Venue Services – Operations
RESPONSIBLE TO: Operations Manager
HOURS: 20hrs per week (annualised)
PAY: £13,000

Purpose of Job

A role supporting the venue management in the day to day operation of the Guildhall concerts and events. To co-ordinate and supervise events and concerts. This role shall include overseeing all areas of secondary spend & promoter liaison. Assisting in the facilitation of the back-office functions of these areas, as well as the management on the event of the and casual bars & Front of House teams.

DANCE LIVE! PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

TITLE: Dance Live! Production Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Learning and Participation
RESPONSIBLE TO: Dance Live! Senior Producer
HOURS: 40hrs per week
PAY: £25,850

Purpose of Job

You will be responsible for facilitating the communication and delivery of Dance Live! events, a program that empowers children and young people to create big production moments, whilst developing creative and technical skills. You will liaise with schools, teachers and participants’ parents, and assist with the production and delivery of Dance Live! and Dance Live! Studio Edition events. You will also uphold the mission, values and vision of Dance Live!, which are to strengthen school communities, raise aspirations, support skills and development, and inspire and create through progressive and innovative performance. You will ensure the quality and integrity of Dance Live! events, and contribute to the growth and reputation of the program across the UK.

Work Experience

Week long work experience for Y10, Y11 and College Students

We offer a limited number of placements each year that give a broad experience across all departments of the venue.

Please complete our Application Form and send it at least 2 months before your required start date to: hayley.reay@portsmouth.guildhall.org.uk

We do not accept CVs and/or Covering Letters and the application must be written and submitted by the person wishing to undertake work experience. We particularly welcome applications from students who express an interest in working in the music, arts and cultural sector.

Potential applicants will be interviewed in person or by phone before a placement is offered. Due to the large number of applications we receive we are not able to reply to all. If you have not heard from us within 1 week of submitting your application, you have unfortunately been unsuccessful.

 

Work Shadow Opportunities

Each year we run ‘Connect’ our work shadow programme where we offer x10 young people aged 16+ who are serious about developing a career offstage, the opportunity to work alongside our technical team.

Over a 9 month period successful applicants are offered x3 shows on which they can shadow our team, learn about how shows are run and how to approach the working environment.
