Tuesday 5th – Friday 8th May, 10am – 5pm
FREE – No Ticket Required

The Beatles visited Portsmouth four times in 1963, playing twice at Portsmouth Guildhall, one performance replacing a cancelled booking due to Paul McCartney becoming ill, and they played once at the Savoy Ballroom on South Parade. In 2023, the story of their visits was celebrated in a new book, THE BEATLES – At Portsmouth Guildhall & The Savoy, 1963, by Nigel Grundy, curator of the permanent Portsmouth Music Experience Exhibition on the first floor of Portsmouth Guildhall. The book was accompanied by an exhibition of 40 panels, each being a page from the book, which will be available to view once more in the Guildhall Squared festival tent.

This event is part of Guildhall Squared, a Festival Tent in Guildhall Square from 5 – 10 May filled with an exciting programme of events, workshops and activities in celebration of Portsmouth’s 100 years of city status.
Bringing generations together.
