Week long Dance & Performance Skills Academy for 7-15 year olds
Following the overwhelming success of The Guildhall Trust’s popular dance event for Schools and Colleges, the team behind Dance Live! has launched a Summer Academy for young people who would like to spend a week of the summer holidays improving their skills and learning about all aspects of performance.
Filled with exciting and creative activities, each Academy week taking place at Portsmouth Guildhall will cover choreography, dance styles, making digital content, lighting, costume, prop design, makeup, stage management and working as a team, culminating with a short performance to family and friends at the end of the week.
The Dance Live! Summer Academy is open to all – no previous dance, performance or technical experience is necessary nor is previous or future participation in the full Dance Live! competition.
The Summer Academy at Portsmouth Guildhall is open from 10am – 4pm for 7-11 year olds on Monday 1st – Friday 5th August (with extended care available from 9am – 5pm) and for 12 – 15 year olds on Monday 15th – Friday 19th August (no extended care available).
Fees are £150 per week, plus £5 per day for extended care, with subsidised rates available for those who receive free school meals.
