The School & College dance event that is taking the country by storm!

As teachers return to their classrooms this week, schools and colleges are advised that it is not too late to register for Dance Live! 2023 – the popular annual dance contest produced by The Guildhall Trust.

Embracing the ever-evolving digital world and how this is changing the face of modern performance, Dance Live! sees pupils in KS2-4 and Further Education perform choreographed routines to the backdrop of a giant LED screen and the development of off-stage technical skills.

Registration for the events which take place between February and May 2023 will close at 5pm on Monday 26th September, and with spaces filling quickly schools and colleges are urged not to hang around.

Going into its 4th year, Dance Live! has expanded from its beginnings at Portsmouth Guildhall to also offer Heats in 2023 in Poole, Guildford, High Wycombe and Eastbourne and a separate contest for the North of England in Sheffield, with 125 schools and over 6000 pupils already registered.

More than just a dance competition, Dance Live! focuses on raising aspirations and developing skills to support career paths into the creative industry, delivering a range of supportive workshop opportunities that encourage all, not just dancers, to get involved.

With links to Ofsted and the Gatsby benchmark, Dance Live! provides a range of health and wellbeing benefits whilst bringing young people together as a team and growing their confidence.

Previous participants in Dance Live! are keen to share their experience of the contest:

“Dance Live! genuinely is the MOST memorable day and our children have come away excited, inspired and full of enthusiasm for the creative arts.”
Cornerstone CE Primary School

“The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I saw children overcome barriers that they previously had come into school today with a totally different outlook. Positive about being in school and wanting to share their experience with others, when normally they don’t contribute within the class.” The Bay CE Primary School

“A massive thank you for all your hard work with Dance Live. Our students have memories that will last a lifetime and are still buzzing and talking about it around School.” The Priory School

Dance Live! Producer Cherry Lambert said, “The interest in Dance Live! is phenomenal and we are delighted with the take-up in the new areas that we are taking the contest to next year. If you haven’t heard of Dance Live! before it’s not too late to get involved for 2023. Our team is here to support you from initial contact and registration, through workshops and rehearsals, to your performance on stage.
