The Guildhall Trust's family event continues to engage with people of all ages.

This month, the Guildhall Trust’s Portsmouth Comic Con took our ethos of equality and celebration of geek culture to several events in the city, with the launch of our 2024 Portsmouth Comic Con Fringe! This exciting new addition to the Comic Con’s offering is a great way to bring people of all ages together, with a large variety of events which are either free, or only £1 to attend!

The 7th of February saw the first of our Cosplay Socials at the Guildhall Village pub, teaming up with our Cosplay Partners, Dream Team Portsmouth.

We had a great turn out of people who wanted to find a community space to talk about all things cosplay – look out for our next Cosplay Social on the 6th of March!

Also taking place at The Guildhall Village, our first Drink ‘n Draw session with brilliant comic artist Russell Mark Olson, was held on February the 13th. Aspiring artists (and those just looking to experiment!) joined Russell for various art-related activities and proudly shared their results! The next session will be taking place on the 13th of March.

Last, but definitely not least, on the 14th of February, we held a superhero Mask Making Workshop in the Guildhall Lens Studio, where over 100 Portsmouth families joined us and Dream Team Portsmouth for some geeky arts and crafts! They also got the opportunity to meet Wonder Woman, Princess Anna and Captain America – and of course, our giant inflatable Hulk!

The Guildhall Trust, along with the Portsmouth Comic Con team, are always looking for new and exciting ways to engage with our local community. This year’s Comic Con is taking place on the 11th and 12th of May and tickets are selling fast – get yours here: https://portsmouthcomiccon.com/
