The Guildhall Trust x Ecologi - Growing a more sustainable future
At The Guildhall Trust, sustainability is a core part of how we deliver events and operate as a venue. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we are proud to take meaningful, measurable action to support global reforestation and environmental restoration.
For every conferencing or large-scale event held in our Main Auditorium, we fund the planting of 50 trees. This initiative ensures that each event contributes positively to the environment, helping to reduce carbon impact while supporting long-term ecological projects around the world.
In March 2026, we funded 50 trees on behalf of the University of Portsmouth’s Dance Event. This contribution is part of our ongoing commitment to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our operations.
To date, The Guildhall Trust has funded the planting of 7,150 trees across 17 projects globally. These projects span regions including Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Peru, and Morocco—supporting a diverse range of ecosystems such as mangroves, forest gardens, and tropical rainforests.
Track Our Progress
We are committed to transparency and accountability in our environmental efforts. You can explore the projects we support and track our ongoing impact here.
Together with our partners and clients, we are building a more sustainable future—one event, and one tree, at a time.

Why Trees Matter
Trees play a critical role in tackling climate change. They absorb and store carbon dioxide, helping to reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Beyond carbon capture, reforestation supports biodiversity, restores degraded land, and strengthens ecosystems.
Importantly, these projects also deliver social impact. Community-led initiatives supported by Ecologi help create employment opportunities, promote gender equality, diversify food sources, and improve local infrastructure. All tree planting is carefully managed to ensure the right species are planted in the right locations, with long-term protection in place.
