An amazing season of entertainment is coming to Portsmouth Guildhall this Autumn, all of which can be enjoyed from the comfort of brand-new seating!
Over the summer, a £600,000 investment has seen all of the venue’s seats replaced with new seats that are designed for comfort with a contoured seat and backrest, with a number of Premium Seats introduced that will offer even greater comfort, more space and a package of extras to complete the VIP experience.
Further works to enhance the auditorium include painting and decoration, new stage tabs and new carpet for the upper stalls and circle areas, which have created a classic and timeless look.
The new look auditorium will be revealed from the first concert of the Autumn season, the hugely popular folk-bluegrass musical ensemble, The Dead South, on 3rd September.
Musical greats to follow throughout the season include Alison Moyet, Jack Savoretti, Michael Ball, Soul II Soul, The Proclaimers, Jon Anderson + The Band Geeks, Marillion, Rick Wakeman, Chris Williamson, Don Broco, Boyzlife, Squeeze, The Drifters, The Amy Winehouse Band, The Hunna, Bellowhead, The Pogues, The Snuts, The Unthanks and Boys Are Back Again with East 17 and Blazin’ Squad.
Plus, a range of the best tributes and celebrations of music including Luke Combs UK, Rob Lamberti – Perfectly George, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Sky Full of Stars (Coldplay), Oh What a Night (Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons), The Elvis World Tour, Rhythm of the 90s, One Night in Nashville and The Big Indoor Britpop Festival.
A spectacular season of classical concerts with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Portsmouth Chamber Music Series will feature, with further orchestral treats including Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of the War of the Worlds, Avatar the Last Airbender, and festive film classics live in concert including Love Actually, The Holiday and Disney’s The Muppet Christmas Carol. The Band of HM Royal Marines will also return with their annual Christmas spectacular!
A fantastic autumn of comedy is also on offer including The Prat Pack, Bill Bailey, Miriam Margolyes, Jonathan Pie, Simon Brodkin and Phil Wang, plus a range of stand up in The Lens Studio.
Even more entertainment to enjoy includes the return of Bongo’s Bingo, Magic Men with international superstar Will Parfitt, an evening with Michael Portillo, Grandslam Wrestling, Illusion Impossible, The Untouchables Darts with Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, Oktoberfest, a Big Shot – Darts Party, Titchfield Boxing and this year’s family pantomime coming to The Lens Studio, Snow White!
Looking ahead to 2027 and an equally impressive range is on offer including Gabrielle, Greg Davies, The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight, Disney Princess – The Concert, D-Day Darlings & The BBC Big Band, Mo Gilligan, The Fratellis, Portsmouth Comic Con and the international smash hit musical: SIX!
